Solon Dixon Forestry Education Center
Dormitory Project

The Auburn University College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment (CFWE) is launching construction of a new 32-room, 12,000-square-foot dormitory at the Solon Dixon Forestry Education Center to support hands-on education and professional training in natural resources. This modern, 64-bed facility will replace outdated 1970s-era dormitories and serve as the home for Auburn’s forestry and wildlife summer practicum courses, as well as training programs hosted by nonprofit, state, and federal partners. Designed with contemporary amenities, enhanced privacy and security, suite-style shared bathrooms, and welcoming indoor and outdoor common spaces—including a spacious covered patio—the dormitory will foster collaboration, community, and an exceptional learning environment. The project represents a $5.7 million investment and is anticipated to be completed by summer 2027.

Support the Dixon Dorm Project

The CFWE is committed to shaping the future of conservation—and invites alumni and friends to be part of that legacy. Through a capital campaign, the College will raise more than $3 million to bring this transformative project to life. A philanthropic gift, regardless of size, will make a lasting impact. If you would like to reserve a naming opportunity or secure a plaque on the donor wall through a tax-deductible contribution, which may be fulfilled over a five-year period, please contact Heather Crozier, Director of Development, at vannhea@auburn.edu, or consider making your donation online today.
