Campus Amenities
The Dixon Center is an excellent venue for special events, meetings, field training, and other functions. It offers pleasant gathering spaces, comfortable living quarters, cafeteria-style dining, technological resources, diverse habitats and landscapes, and abundant recreation opportunities. However, the facilities do not include televisions, cable, satellite access, or radios.
Classrooms
Each classroom has audio-visual equipment, including a computer, projector, document cam, and dry-erase boards. As a meeting space, this facility offers a centralized location to accommodate groups with a wide range of program needs and functions.
Dining
The dining facility comfortably accommodates 100 people and offers a full-service kitchen, cafeteria, and salad bar. All meals are prepared to order on-site, and plates are overfilled in a serving line.
Lodging
The Dixon Center offers two lodging experiences, bunkhouse and hotel-style, to accommodate teams and private groups.
The Solon and Martha Dixon Foundation Learning Center
Completed in 2012, the Solon and Martha Dixon Foundation Learning Center is a 6,500-square-foot building featuring the 100-seat Gjerstad Johnson Longleaf Auditorium, a 40-seat classroom, and a conference room with covered porches and arts and crafts architectural details throughout. The interior offers award-winning nature photography, comfortable auditorium and conference room seating, a refreshment station, handicap-accessible restrooms, and state-of-the-art audiovisual and internet capabilities. As a meeting space, this facility offers a centralized location to accommodate groups with various program needs and functions.
Bunkhouse-Style Lodging
The Dixon Center bunkhouse rooms are open floor plans with several twin beds in each room and an adjoining shared bath/shower room. The Dixon Center has eight bunkhouse rooms, each accommodating three to 10 people. In total, the center can accommodate 80 people in this sleeping arrangement.
Hotel-Style Lodging
These rooms have two twin beds, a private bath/shower room, and individual heating/cooling units. The Dixon Center has 24 hotel-style rooms available, capable of sleeping up to 48 people.
Dining and Kitchen Facilities
Dining facilities at the Center include an 80 to 100 person, full-service kitchen/cafeteria. All meals are prepared to order on-site and plates are overfilled in a serving line. Normal serving times are 7 a.m. for breakfast, 12 noon for lunch, and 6 p.m. for supper.
